The Yhedwan Chronicles

A Word From The Authors

David and Ruth O’Rafferty are the voices behind the Yhedwan Chronicles. They are the two halves of a successful duo that is producing stand-out fantasy fiction. David describes the process as a mixture of imagination and revelation, ‘It’s like the words appear at the bottom of the page.’  Ruth adds, ‘Once David’s finished his part, it’s over to me. I pull it all together, building the characters, developing relationships and bringing David’s ideas to life.’

David and Ruth live in Scotland’s Clyde Valley—an area filled with history and adventure.

Yhedwan Chronicles

The Yhedwan Chronicles begins in modern-day London, where Sophie Adler, an ambitious corporate go-getter with a meticulously planned future—and a cheeky budgie named Trevor—finds her carefully constructed life upended. Chosen as a Sword Maiden, Sophie becomes an interdimensional weapon of immense, destructive power, thrust into a destiny she never asked for and barely understands.

Sophie’s journey hurtles her across extraordinary realms filled with danger and wonder, where ogres, dragons, snagolats and clagwings roam. Each world teems with awe-inspiring characters, terrifying enemies and breathtaking beauty, testing Sophie in ways she never imagined.

As she navigates between physical and spiritual dimensions, Sophie confronts profound loss, unrelenting transformation, and the tangled human desires for control, change, and purpose. Fast-paced and brimming with heart-stopping twists, The Yhedwan Chronicles is more than an adventure—it’s a deep dive into the unknown.

The further Sophie journeys, the more the lines blur between hero and weapon, courage and fear, life and sacrifice. Are you ready to follow her? Brace yourself—the deeper you go, the harder it is to turn back.

The Last Sword Maiden

This was undoubtedly the best read I have had for years!!! I read the free content on Amazon, which was actually quite long, and loved it. After that I could barely put the book down: it was riveting!!

The intertwined stories were great and I loved the descriptive language throughout.

Really looking forward to the sequel coming out!!!

Morlina

As the second volume of a series this book increases the pace of the story and the diversity of the characters introduced in book one. An absolute romp through spiritual realms you haven’t imagined with a fluid range of dilemmas to suit every taste.
The characters’ individual and personal dawning awareness of spirituality is particularly well portrayed, perhaps encouraging the reader to reflect on their own beliefs.
A seriously good, fun read, with poignancy and acknowledgement of loss and change.

Review on Book 1

The first installment of the Yhedwan Chronicles was a feast l definitely enjoyed.
The visual depictions of each of the realms were a banquet in themselves and I found myself, frequently pausing to savour the rich vivid details in my mind, amazing new worlds being absorbed and constructed in my imagination.
Add to this the surprising variety of characters, with storylines that cris crossed each other and at times collided head on, creating captivatingly wonderful journeys for me while l continued to read.
As I await the second installment of the Yhedwan Chronicles, I am revisiting, re reading book one, with anticipation building, comes a thirst for more, I realise that I have a real problem, I want more.

Review on Book 2

I am not generally into fantasy books however when I read The Last Sword Maiden I was hooked. I’ve been waiting for this book to be released for sometime now and it didn’t disappoint.

My main recommendation is that you MUST read The Last Sword Maiden first……although, I would note that, the introduction at the start of Morlina was very helpful to remind me what happened in the last book.Without doubt it is an addictive read with a lot of twists and turns. This book brings into play a lot of new characters and also links seamlessly together with those in PRIME and their own development.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and am definitely looking forward to the next instalment!
